Boris Koltsov, Jarno Bottenberg, Derek Coulson, Andy Davidson and Mark McGeeney all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Jamie Owens, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
In Group B, Koltsov topped the group overall, despite only winning two of his four matches on Friday Evening.
Boris recorded victories against Darryl Pilgrim and Ted Evetts, with defeats coming against Mark McGeeney and Andy Davidson, to end on 10 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Andy Davidson and Mark McGeeney also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Davidson ending on 10 points and McGeeney on 8 points, whilst Ted Evetts and Darryl Pilgrim finished 4th and 5th on 6 points each.
Bottenberg, who entered Friday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning all five of his matches again, as he recorded victories against Kendrick Koordom, Darryl Pilgrim, Chris Hurds and Sean McKinney, to end on 20 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Derek Coulson also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 12 points and edging out Sean McKinney, who missed out in 3rd due to leg difference, whilst Chris Hurds and Simon Teysen finished 4th and 5th respectively on 8 points each and Kendrick Koordom bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 12 with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
