David Davies claimed the MODUS Super Series Week 11 title on Saturday night, surviving a string of last-leg deciders before defeating previous Series champion Jenson Walker 4-3 in a tense final at the Live Lounge in Portsmouth.
The Welshman booked his place in Series 15 Champions Week – which begins on 26 October – and collected the £5,000 weekly prize after a night of high-pressure darts that showcased his resilience.
Tommy Morris, the automatic qualifier from Group A, Ashley Coleman, Ashton Brown, Brian Raman and Walker joined Davies in the six-player finale.
The format saw two round-robin groups of three, followed by semi-finals and the final. In the group stage, Morris edged Davies 4-3 and later overcame Coleman 4-3.
Walker opened with a dominant 4-0 whitewash of Raman, while Brown defeated Raman 4-2 and Walker 4-2.
Davies responded with a 4-3 win over Coleman, and Walker later defeated Morris 4-2.
The semi-finals produced further drama. Walker continued his strong form by beating Morris 4-2, while Davies came from behind to defeat Brown 4-3 in another deciding-leg thriller.
That set up an intense final between Davies and Walker. After multiple last-leg battles throughout the evening, Davies held his nerve once more to seal a 4-3 victory and the weekly crown.
Davies’ path to the title was defined by composure under pressure, as he repeatedly found a way through tight contests to secure the Champions Week berth.
The MODUS Super Series continues next week with the start of Week 12, the final regular week before Champions Week.
