It was another fantastic day of darts action at Clacton Sports Bar on Saturday, 7th September. The tournament began with the Early Bird Scratch Pairs, attracting 38 players and The Singles event hosting an even larger turnout with 53 players competing.
After some fierce competition, the team of Liam Willis and John Nelson emerged victorious, claiming the £130 first prize. They defeated the duo of Paul Hawkins and Paul Williams, who secured £60 for their efforts.
The level of competition and performance was very high in the singles with standout performances led by Curtis Hammond and Shaun Fox who clashed in the first semi-final. Both players were in top form, scoring heavily throughout, but Fox’s relentless play saw him clinch the win with a superb ton-plus checkout. Along the way, Fox also dispatched tough opponents in Paul Williams and John Nelson with dominant 3-0, 3-0 wins.
In the second semi-final, Paul Walker continued his impressive form from his recent runner-up finish in July’s Tendring Masters Qualifier. He edged past a resurgent Alan Collins to secure his spot in the final.
The final saw Shaun Fox carry on his excellent scoring and finishing form, which had been on display all day. Despite a valiant effort from Walker, Fox’s resilience paid off as he clinched the title and the £400 first prize.
