Darius Labanauskas was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week One at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Bradley Brooks in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 first prize.
Labanauskas, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly defeated Richard Rowlands, before suffering a defeat to Neil Duff. However, the Lithuanian did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Carl Wilson, and from there, Labanauskas defeated ‘The Gok’ 4-3 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Labanauskas came up against Bradley Brooks, who’d defeated Richard Rowlands in the last four, and in a battle between two Former PDC Tour Card Holders, it was Labanauskas who came out on top, as he defeated ‘Bam Bam’ 4-3 to seal his place in Champions Week, as well as collecting the £5,000 top prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday for the start of Week Two, with the first of three days of Group A commencing and the field including Series Seven Champion Andreas Harrysson.
