James Hubbard made a strong start to Week Six of the MODUS Super Series, topping the Group A table after Day One with four wins from five. The former PDC Unicorn World Youth Champion collected 8 points and sits clear at the summit. Hubbard, who beat Michael van Gerwen in the 2012 youth final, overcame all but Derek Coulson on his return to the Portsmouth venue.
Derek Coulson, the recent Champions Week winner and the form-horse in the group, is right behind on 6 points after three wins from five. The Welshman posted the highest average of the day and looked sharp in several dominant displays, including 4-0 whitewashes of David Munyua and Gary Mawson plus a 4-0 win over Hubbard. He did drop a tight 4-3 to Patrick Dekker and lost 4-2 to Jamai van den Herik.

Jamai van den Herik and David Munyua also finished on 6 points after three wins apiece. Dutchman Van den Herik, a previous weekly winner, recovered well after an early defeat, while Ally Pally hero Munyua picked up important victories including a 4-3 over Dekker. Patrick Dekker (2) and Gary Mawson (0) sit lower in the table after tougher days.
