Scott Taylor was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week Eight at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Marvin Van Velzen in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Taylor, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly defeated Anton Ostlund, before suffering a defeat to Kurt Parry. However, the Englishman did progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Scott Baker, and from there, Taylor defeated Baker, 4-3, to book his place in the final.

In the decider, Taylor came up against Marvin Van Velzen, who’d defeated Anton Ostlund in the last four, and in a battle between two Former Champions Week winners, it was Taylor who came out on top by defeating his Dutch opponent, 4-2, to seal a return to Champions Week as well as collecting the £5,000 first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Nine, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Alex Spellman and Andy Boulton. Play will be streamed on the MODUS Super Series YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
