Price’s 2025 Hatrick

Play the Pro Darts Scorer

Gerwyn Price picked up a third PDC Pro Tour title of the year on Wednesday, after an impressive 8-7 victory against Josh Rock in the final of Players Championship 12, as the Pro Tour double header concluded at Leicester’s Mattioli Arena.

Price, the winner of PC2 & PC9 so far in 2025, went all the way once again, as he reached the final by producing several ton-plus average victories across the day by defeating Darius Labanauskas, Adam Lipscombe, Matthew Dennant, Mario Vandenbogaerde, Jonny Clayton and Ian White, to set up a clash with Rock.

The final began with Price racing into a 4-0 lead, with winning legs coming in 16,12,15 and 18 darts respectively before Rock ended the run by picking his first leg of the tie in Leg Five with a 11-dart break of throw, which was then followed by a 12 dart leg from the Northern Irishman to half the deficit at 4-2. Price then extended his lead in Leg Seven with an 18 darter, which was then followed by back-to-back 13 dart legs from Rock to move within one of the Welshman at 5-4.

Price then moved within one of victory by winning two straight legs of his own in 14 and 11 darts respectively, leaving Rock needing to win four straight legs to keep his title hopes alive. ‘Rocky’ then produced a remarkable run to force a last leg decider, as he rattled off three successive legs, which included missing double 12 for a nine-dart finish. The advantage of throwing first in the decider proved to be vital, as Price sealed the victory in Leg 15 with a 14 darter to claim a third title of the year and a 40th of his PDC career.

Rock, the winner of Players Championship 10 just last Tuesday, narrowly missed out on claiming two titles in the space of eight days, as he reached the final by recording victories on the day against Radek Szaganski, Justin Hood, Matt Campbell, Danny Noppert, Gary Anderson and Gian Van Veen, before being denied by Price. However, it was in his Last 32 clash with Matt Campbell that Rock achieved perfection by firing in a nine-dart finish.

Elsewhere, there were Quarter Final runs for reigning European Champion Ritchie Edhouse and European Championship Semi Finalist Luke Woodhouse, whilst the likes of 3x World Champion Michael Van Gerwen, top seed Dave Chisnall and Premier League star Chris Dobey were amongst the high profile first round casualties.

The PDC Pro Tour returns next week on 14-15th April in Rosmalen with Players Championship 13 & 14 taking place, with the 128 players competing for £125,000 in prize money each day. Play will be broadcasted across four streaming boards on PDC.TV and various bookmaker websites worldwide, with all live scores and results on tv.dartconnect.com.
