Lakeside World Champion Shane McGuirk moved to within two points of early leader Derek Coulson after the latest action in the MODUS Super Series (10) Champions Week yesterday.
Coulson retained his position at the top of the table on Tuesday, after winning three of his five matches on Day Two and looks to secure his place in Saturday’s Champions Week finale, going into the final day of Group A on Wednesday.
Coulson, who entered Tuesday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group A, won three matches from five to remain at the top of the table, as he recorded victories against Mervyn King, Alec Small and Scott Campbell, with his two defeats coming against Shane McGuirk and Jenson Walker, to sit on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Shane McGuirk is the closest competitor to Coulson, with the reigning WDF World Champion sitting in 2nd overall on 14 points, whilst Scott Campbell sits in 3rd on 12 points, Mervyn King in 4th on 10 points, Jenson Walker in 5th on 6 points and Alec Small bottom on 2 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Wednesday with the six players returning on the final day of Group A, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Champions Week Finale.
Players who finish in places 2-6 will be split into two groups during Thursday and Friday’s play with Afternoon and Evening sessions taking place on both days, as well as new players entering the fray.
