Play It Cool With Luke Humphries

Diamond Draws Competitions

It’s been a hectic few weeks since I last to spoke to you all!

Me and Luke [Littler] went into the World Cup as heavy favourites, but we knew it would still be a tricky task to retain the title that me and Michael won in 2024. In the end, there were no excuses from us, Martin and Ricardo were the better team on the day, and Germany deserved their win.

It was nice to bounce back from that disappointment with a really special win at the US Darts Masters.

DARTS PLAYER MERCHANDISE AND COLLECTABLES AT OUR DARTSWORLD STORE!

Madison Square Garden is such an iconic venue, and to play darts there is an absolute dream and honour. Nathan [Aspinall] pushed me all the way, but I was over the moon to find double eight to pick up the trophy in the end.

Like I said at the time, I’ve won World Championships, World Matchplays, Premier Leagues and big titles, and it felt like I’d won another major.

The defence of the World Matchplay didn’t go how I would have hoped, but Gian (van Veen) was always going to be a tough draw for any seed. We always have good battles, and he got the better of this one. He’s a class player with a huge future ahead of him.

Australia and New Zealand were again a fantastic experience, although sadly I was very under the weather in Australia, and that proved my undoing in Wollongong. I had a good run in Auckland though, and I would have retained my title if it wasn’t the small matter of a 115 average from a certain Mr Littler in the final!

I’ve managed to have some family time in between the ‘busyness’ of the PDC season, and that’s all-important to me. It’s been nice to get away with the family and recharge the batteries for what will be a big end to the year for me.

I’ll be ready for it, and I’ll be practicing hard to pick up titles along the way.
