I think my performance overall at the World darts was very good. I was nervous for the first round, and it was a tricky opponent for me in Cristo Reyes. I think that showed, as in my second round match I was so much more relaxed, averaging over 108, and from there I was rarely in trouble or under pressure.
My timing seemed to be right, especially in winning deciding legs in sets, and that really helped me get to the final. The final was obviously a disappointing result and performance from me, and maybe I ran out of steam a little bit after beating Luke (Humphries) and Gary (Anderson) but I’m really pleased overall with getting to my first World final.
DARTS PLAYER MERCHANDISE AND COLLECTABLES AT OUR DARTSWORLD STORE!
Before the World Championship started, my goal was just to win a match, so to finally do that was a relief, and took so much pressure off my shoulders. The bookmakers made me fourth favourite for the title, and I’d never even won a match!

To make the final from there was a run of a lifetime, and one I’m really proud of!
Representing the PDC on the World Series was also a new thing for me, and to do it in Bahrain and Saudi was a great experience. There’s not much pressure at the events and you get to see the world playing the sport I love is a privilege.
It’s special to have been picked for the Premier League, especially to have done it through the rankings. Knowing you have deserved it means that much more. I didn’t necessarily expect to be here 12 months ago, but I’m not complaining and I’m loving it!
The Premier League has been fantastic so far. It’s massive venues and crowds each week and I’m really enjoying it. There’s always going to be pressure to make the O2, but I don’t put pressure on myself, and I’m just focused on picking up points.

I think I’ve done well so far, and making the Week One final settled me down. To pick up points early, and to make two finals in the first three weeks is exactly the start I was looking for.
