Josh McCarthy, George Killington, Archie Self, Kurt Parry and James Buckby all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the MODUS Super Series.
Friday’s five join Jelle Klaasen, the winner of Group A earlier in the week, in tonight’s weekly finale where they will battle for the winners cheque and a place in the fourteenth Champions Week.
McCarthy, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as he recorded victories against Arne Spee, Peter Jacques, Lloyd Walker, George Killington and Danny Trueman, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, George Killington also progressed through to Saturday’s Finale, after finishing 2ndoverall on 12 points, whilst Danny Trueman and Lloyd Walker finished 3rd and 4th on 10 points each, with Peter Jacques and Arne Spee finishing 5th and 6th on 6 points each.
In Group B, Archie Self topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against William Borland, James Buckby, Richie Howson and Kurt Parry, to end on a maximum 16 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Kurt Parry and James Buckby also progressed through to Saturday’s Finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively on 10 points each, whilst William Borland finished 4th on 4 points and Richie Howson bottom on 0 points having suffered eight straight defeats.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Four with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
