Ashley Coleman was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Five at the MODUS Super Series, after defeating Tommy Morris in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and claim the weekly top prize.
Coleman, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches as he firstly won his opener against Lee Cocks before suffering a defeat to Scott Campbell.
However, the Englishman did progress through to the Semi Finals where he came up against Ciaran Forde and from there Coleman dispatched of his compatriot, 4-1, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Coleman came up against Tommy Morris, who’d defeated Scott Campbell in the last four, and nothing separated the pair throughout the tie until Coleman sealed the victory in a last leg decider, 4-3, to seal his place in Champions Week as well as collecting the £5,000 first prize.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Six, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Former World Youth Champion Keegan Brown and International Pairs Champion Brian Raman.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
