Darts can be a cruel master/ mistress at times. You really can swing from the highest highs to the lowest lows, and within any kind of time span you care to mention.
For me it can be summed up with this season’s events at the excellent WADC. It’s a fantastic event and organisation that gives ladies more opportunities with great facilities and officiating etc. Does that mean that I am going to play well and thrive there? The jury is well and truly out!
DARTS PLAYER MERCHANDISE AND COLLECTABLES AT OUR DARTSWORLD STORE!
The truth is I have never played very well on my previous visits to these events although I had reached a final in 2024 where Lisa Ashton had won and claimed another of her many crowns! In truth I put it down to not being fully committed to them due to often not being able to attend enough weekends to take advantage of the various qualifications they offer.
This season I had promised myself to give at least one of the North and South divisions my full effort and it seemed to be a superb decision as I headed to Middlesborough for the first events.
I won an event and at times played very well indeed, including in the stage final. I reached a second final where I was KO’s by Kim Holden, who was also having a bumper weekend! Importantly I also reached two quarter finals and generally performed closer to my current under the radar form than I did for a while and certainly on the WADC platform.
I also joined an exclusive club, more of that in a minute…
We moved onto Bradmoor farm for the South ‘Division’ and to say it was the complete reverse would be being generous! No decent runs at all and not too troubling for the scorers of this division’s table!

Meanwhile on the Professional Darts Scene
The recent PDC Women’s Series was a similar tale but sometimes you can play decently and get little back as the depth of the ladies’ game is getting better all the time. I had opportunities to trouble fallon Sherrock and missed out and that pattern seemed on repeat.

Finally, congratulations to Vicky Pruim. She has deservedly joined the honour role at PDC Women’s Series and joins another club – those who have also won on the W/ADC Championship!
