Van Den Herik Heads Into Super Series Finale

Jamai van den Herik led five qualifiers from the group stage into the finale of the MODUS Super Series on Friday. The Dutchman topped Group B with England’s sixteen-year-old Kaya Baysal joining as the winner of Group C.

Jamai leapfrogged Scotland’s Jim McEwan with final leg decider in the final game of the day between the two leader. Overall van den Herik topped Group B with 12 points and was joined in finals night by McEwan and former world championship semi-finalist Jamie Lewis who finished third.

Group C saw a remarkable, record setting day, from Kaya Baysal (below) who swept into the finale with a perfect day.

The teenager won five games on the spin to finish the group on 18 points, 6 clear of his nearest rival. Lee Evans finished in the other qualifying spot after edging out Mason Whitlock on head-to head record.

The MODUS Super Series climaxes on Saturday with Friday’s five joining Aldridge in the weekly finale, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
