Klinge Does ADA Double

The penultimate weekend of action on the 2026 Australian Darts Association Tour saw the players heading to New South Wales, as they continues to fight out for spots in events such as the World Championships and the ANZ Premier League, which would be decided after the final weekend of action next month.

There was another point of focus this weekend however, it was the final qualifying events for the inaugural Trans-Tasman Championship which takes place at the end of August. This event sees the top 16 from Australia, joined by the top 16 from New Zealand, as they fight out for both the title and a spot at Alexandra Palace. This meant this weekend was very important for those ranked around 16^th

Event 17

The first event of the weekend took place on Friday night. There early upset came with James Bailey and Jeremy Fagg falling in the Last 32, but the big talking point was Raymond Smith losing out to his son, Ky Smith, in a Last 16 deciding leg!

A very impressive day, 2+ averages and an event average of 95.01, saw Brody Klinge claim a seventh title of the season on the ADA Tour, leapfrogging Smith to move into top spot on the Order of Merit.

The performance of the event came from Klinge himself, who averages 105.07 to beat Puna Ben in the Last 16

Event 18

The second day of action kicked off with Event 18 in the morning, which saw the shock exit of top seed Brody Klinge in his first round match, losing 6-5 to the improving Seamus Lynch.

Overall it was a very strong Quarter-Final line up, with Raymond Smith the big favourite, but he fell to the confident Tim Pusey in the Semi-Finals, who went on to win the Title, hie fourth of the season. Despite still being a way off the top two, this almost certainly confirms he will be qualifying for the ANZ Premier League for a second consecutive year!

Event 19

The second event of Saturday’s action saw an early exit for Joe Comito, who lost in the Last 16 to Robbie King having made back-to-back finals in the first two events. Raymond Smith also fell early, losing to debutant Zinzan Culshaw in the Last 32!

Brody Klinge went into the Semi-Finals as a big favourite but missed a host of match darts before losing to Michael Bajowski 6-5, setting up a blockbuster between Bajowski and Fagg in the Final, neither player previously winning a title on the ADA Tour.

Michael Bajowski managed to fight off a late comeback to claim his very first title on any PDC affiliate tour, beating out Jeremy Fagg 6-4 to put himself in the conversation for the ANZ Premier League!

Event 20

Sunday saw the final event of the weekend, a set-play event. The format change saw a lot of brilliant performances from different players, lead by Mal Cuming averaging 104.02 in the Last 16, along with 100+ averages from Klinge, Pusey and Ray Smith.

The Semi-Finals saw the top four players on the ADA Tour in 2026 all competing, with everyone averaging over 90. Ultimately Brody Klinge went on to take the title, creating a gap between him and Smith in the race to Alexandra Palace going into the final weekend. It was a brilliant eight title of the year for Klinge, a hit rate of almost 50% on the tour!
