Derek Coulson secured the automatic Finals Night berth from Group A on Wednesday after three days of tight, high-quality Super Series darts at the Live Lounge.
The Welshman, already a Series 14 Champions Week winner this year, finished the round-robin with 11 wins from 15 matches. Jamai van den Herik matched that win tally, but Coulson’s far superior leg difference settled the issue and sent him through to Saturday.
Coulson had seized control on Tuesday with a five-from-five haul. On the final day he stayed clinical, mixing heavy scoring with the same ruthless finishing that has made him one of the most reliable operators in Portsmouth. Van den Herik never faded. The Dutch weekly winner from Series 13 kept landing blows and stayed in contention until the closing fixtures, only to fall short on legs rather than points.
James Hubbard, the former PDC Unicorn World Youth Champion, ended third after a mixed Wednesday. David Munyua again showed why his Ally Pally run still resonates, while Patrick Dekker and Gary Mawson will now look to rebuild in the remaining midweek groups.

The rest of the Group A field splits into Thursday and Friday’s Group B and Group C sessions, where new players join the chase for the last five Finals Night places.
Saturday’s finale then decides the weekly title and another Champions Week spot.
