A day of near-perfection and clinical progression at the Live Lounge saw the Finals Night field take clear shape, with debutant Danny Goddard producing one of the most eye-catching displays of the entire Super Series campaign.
Familiar faces including Neil Duff and Dmitrii Rogov will join the debutant and Group A winner Daniel Klose for Saturday’s showpiece.
Goddard’s Perfect Debut
Group C belonged entirely to “The Codfather.” Making his first appearance at the Super Series, Danny Goddard swept all ten of his matches to finish top of the table with a flawless 10-0 record.
It was a statement performance of the highest order – composed, clinical and relentless from the first leg to the last.
Justin Smith produced enviable consistency to claim the second qualification place from the group. The pair will now line up on Finals Night after a session that left little doubt about who the dominant forces were.
Andy Hamilton, Jordan Brooks, Mark Layton and Noa-Lynn van Leuven all had their moments but could not match the pair’s combination of scoring power and finishing.
Duff Does It Again and Rogov Joins the Party
In the evening Group B session the story was once more written by Neil Duff. The Northern Irishman, already a multiple weekly winner and perennial Finals Night presence, sealed top spot with two matches still to play.
Another Saturday night appearance is secured for “The Duffman.”
Dmitrii Rogov produced a strong campaign of his own to book the second automatic qualification place from the group. The Israeli’s progress means the final remaining Finals Night berth will be decided among the remaining contenders in the closing stages of Group B action.
Ziggy Schenk provided one of the highlights of the night with a personal-best average, underlining the quality still on show even as the qualification places were being locked down.
Martyn Turner continued to fight but found himself under increasing pressure as the evening wore on.
The Road to Finals Night
Daniel Klose had already secured his place earlier in the week by topping Group A on leg difference. With Goddard, Smith, Duff and Rogov now confirmed alongside him, the Saturday Finals Night line-up in Portsmouth is taking on a distinctly competitive look.
Friday’s action, live across Pluto TV and the usual MODUS channels, delivered exactly what the Super Series does best: high-stakes group drama, breakout performances and the familiar sight of established names refusing to yield.
All eyes now turn to Saturday evening, when the weekly title will be decided under the Live Lounge lights.
