Gurney Steps Up as Ilagan and Toylo Miss World Series of Darts Finals

Lourence Ilagan and Alexis Toylo have withdrawn from the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals after their Schengen visa applications were not decided in time.

Both players were required to travel to China for the final PDC Asian Tour weekend and the PDC Asian Championship on Monday.

They are replaced, under PDC Rule 3.7, by the next two players on the reserve list from last month’s Tour Card Holder Qualifier: Daryl Gurney and Maik Kuivenhoven (below).

  • Gurney takes Ilagan’s place and opens against reigning champion Michael van Gerwen on Thursday in Amsterdam.
  • Kuivenhoven takes Toylo’s place and faces 2021 champion Jonny Clayton.

The 2026 World Series of Darts Finals runs 17–20 September at AFAS Live. The field still includes world number one Luke Littler, six-time champion van Gerwen, Luke Humphries, European Champion Gian van Veen, Gerwyn Price, James Wade and Clayton.
