Luke Humphries underlined his unrufflable class at the 2026 ČEZ Czech Darts Open with a dominant 6-2 victory over Beau Greaves, ending the young star’s historic run on the European Tour stage.
Greaves had already etched her name into the record books by becoming the first woman to win a match on the European Tour, but she ran into a clinical Humphries at the PVA Expo.
The three-time Czech Darts Open champion averaged just short of 109 and produced a series of high-quality legs to book his place in Sunday’s last 16.Greaves opened the contest with a sharp 13-dart leg, but Humphries responded immediately with legs of 12 and 14 darts to seize early control.
The three-time Women’s World Matchplay champion showed her trademark resilience by closing the gap to one leg, only for the world number two to rattle off three consecutive legs and seal the win.
“I knew I had to play a lot better than last week,” Humphries said, referencing his second-round exit at the Hungarian Darts Trophy.
“48 hours ago I wasn’t sure whether I was going to play; I seem to play better when I have an injury! She’s an amazing player, she pushed me all the way… If I had lost today, I wouldn’t have been disgraced. I would have lost to a really great dart player.”
Humphries now faces Andrew Gilding in the last 16 after the former UK Open champion’s 6-2 win over Nathan Aspinall.
The result keeps the three-time champion firmly on course as he continues his bid for a third consecutive title in Prague.
