VICKY Pruim and Lorraine Hyde will contest the British Classic Women’s title live on stage on Sunday evening. Bridlington Spa will see the best scorer of the weekend take on the 2025 Women’s World Masters winner in the showpiece event.
Pruim carried the class of the quarters. The Swede beat Deta Hedman 4-2 with an 86.34 average, the best of the round and a full 12 points clear of Hedman, who plays as the reigning WDF World Champion.
Darts World’s very own Natalie Gilbert was not far behind. She whitewashed Paula Jacklin 4-0 with an 84.68 average at the same stage. Natalie has been threatening a return to her best form recently with several WADC event winss and other standout performances.
Eve Watson eased past Kirsty Hutchinson 4-2 to make it to the last four, while Hyde needed a deciding leg to edge Anna Zijlstra in a scrappy affair.
The first semi-final was a heartbreaker for Watson. The Welshwoman, who won the Women’s British Open here in 2023, out-averaged Pruim by a point (80 to 79) but lost out in a last leg decider.
Hyde (above) was untroubled by comparison, ending Gilbert’s run 4-2 with an average just shy of 72.The final will see the two go head-to-head, having already met in the final of the ladies’ pairs earlier in the day, as Pruim was partnered by Paige Pauling, as Hyde and Watson fell to a 3-2 defeat.
The pair will fight it out tomorrow evening over the same format as the semis, with the £750 prize on offer. The silver ranking event concludes in conjunction with the British Open, which also kicks off tomorrow.
