Derek Coulson, David Munyua, Kevin Edwards, Jamai Van den Herik, Ram Guevara Jr and James Hubbard have all punched their tickets after the group darts stage. Only one can claim the weekly title, the top prize and a place among the Series 15 elite later in the cycle.
How they got here
Coulson, the Welsh form horse and Series 14 Champions Week winner, secured his place earliest by topping Group A. The experienced campaigner has been in ruthless form throughout the week, posting high averages and showing the consistency that finally delivered his long-awaited major Super Series crown earlier this year. In many ways the 58-year-old Market Drayton resident is this years breakthrough darts star!
On Friday, Munyua and Edwards booked their spots from Group C. The Kenyan star entered the day on six points and finished top overall with 14 from a possible 20 after four wins from five—victories over Patrick Dekker, Kevin Edwards, Gary Mawson and Kevin Painter. His only reverse came against Kevin Lane. Edwards finished a strong second on 12 points to join him, while Mawson and Lane (both 10), Dekker (8) and Painter (6) fell short.
In Group B that evening, Van den Herik topped the standings with 12 points from a possible 16. The Dutchman won three of four, beating John O’Shea, James Hubbard and Ram Guevara Jr (his sole defeat to George Killington). Guevara Jr also finished on 12 points for second place, with Hubbard advancing in third on 10. Killington (4) and O’Shea (2) were eliminated.
Darts Narratives and storylines
Coulson arrives as the clear favourite on pedigree and recent results. A high-averaging performer who has already tasted Champions Week glory, he will look to add another weekly title. Expect him to set the early tempo and force others to chase.Munyua brings genuine international flavour and Ally Pally pedigree.
His Group C dominance showed composure and finishing power—watch for him to produce big checkouts and capitalise if the favourites falter in the short-format pressure.Van den Herik has been one of the week’s most consistent performers. After a strong but ultimately unsuccessful tilt at Group A, he reset and topped Group B with some of the best darts of the Friday night session. He thrives in tight contests and could be the dark horse capable of upsetting the hierarchy.
Hubbard, the former PDC Unicorn World Youth champion who once beat Michael van Gerwen in a final at the O2, offers experience and solid scoring. He has looked reliable throughout and will be dangerous in any knockout-style progression.
Edwards and Guevara Jr both advanced the hard way and arrive with momentum. Edwards’ late surge in Group C and Guevara Jr’s eye-catching results (including a win over Van den Herik earlier) mean neither should be underestimated in a format where one good session can change everything.

The short-format intensity of best-of-seven legs will reward early momentum, clinical doubling and the ability to reset after a setback, so expect tight matches and sudden shifts through the mini-groups and knockout stages. Coulson has been posting the highest averages, and whether anyone can match or exceed that level—plus the big checkouts that decide key legs—will be decisive. Several players have already faced each other this week (Munyua vs Edwards, Van den Herik vs Hubbard and Guevara), so familiarity could spark tactical battles or fresh motivation for revenge.
The international mix of Kenya, Wales, the Netherlands and England has been a feature of the week and should produce further standout individual moments. With only one Champions Week place available, the stakes are high for those still building their Super Series resumés, while for Coulson it is a chance to underline his status.
