DANNY Goddard, Justin Smith, Neil Duff, Dmitrii Rogov and Martyn Turner all secured their places in Saturday’s Finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the MODUS Super Series.
The five join Daniel Klose, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Neither Noa-Lynn Van Leuven nor Mark Layton managed to reach tonight’s finale despite superb moments during their group efforts.
Neither the first transgender thrower to play nor the 68-year old ADC qualifier. Van Leuven’s Thursday 9-darter may have been the highlight of the groups stages but did not the debutant into the finals
Instead Goddard, who entered Friday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five
The week’s second debutant recorded victories against Justin Smith, Layton, Jordan Brooks, Andy Hamilton and Van Leuven, to end on a maximum 20 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Justin Smith also progressed through to Saturday’s Finale, after finishing 2ndoverall on 12 points, whilst Jordan Brooks and Andy Hamilton finished 3rd and 4th on 10 points each, with Noa-Lynn Van Leuven finishing 5th on 6 points and Mark Layton bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Neil Duff topped the group overall after winning three of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Ziggy Schenk, Richard McKee and Martyn Turner, with his only defeat coming against Dmitrii Rogov, to end on 14 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Dmitrii Rogov and Martyn Turner also progressed through to Saturday’s Finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Rogov ending on 14 points and Turner on 6 points, whilst Ziggy Schenk finishing 4th on 4 points and Richard McKee bottom on 2 points.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Five with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
