Play The Pro Darts Scorer

The WDF circuit heads to Budapest this weekend as the Hungarian Darts Federation hosts three days of ranked competition, with the Hungarian Grand Prix, Hungarian Classic and Hungarian Masters providing opportunities for players across the Open, Women’s and Youth categories.

Running from Friday 23 October to Sunday 25 October, the tournaments form part of the Wider Darts Festival, which began in the Hungarian capital on Wednesday 21 October. The action takes place at the Récsei Center housed within the Gerevich Aladár National Sports Hall.

Across the three days, players will compete for WDF ranking points and a share of the €50,000 prize fund for the festival.

The programme builds from a Bronze-ranked opening event on Friday to a Silver tournament on Saturday before culminating in Sunday’s Gold-ranked Hungarian Masters

Friday: Hungarian Grand Prix

The weekend’s action begins on Friday with the Hungarian Grand Prix, a Bronze-ranked event featuring Open, Women’s, Boys’ U18 and Girls’ U18 competitions.

The Open winner will receive €560, with €280 available to the Women’s champion. The youth competitions also offer €80 for the Boys’ U18 winner and €40 for the Girls U18 champion.

With ranking points available across the opening day, the Grand Prix provides an opportunity for players to make an early impression before the higher-ranked tournaments that follow.

Friday’s programme also includes the Hungarian Open Pairs, adding another dimension to the opening day of competition.

Saturday: Hungarian Classic

Saturday sees the Hungarian Classic take centre stage as the ranking level rises to Silver.

The Open champion will take home €1,600, while the Women’s winner received €800. The youth competitions offer €160 for the Boys’ U18 champion and €80 for the Girls’ U18 winner.

The increased prize money and ranking status make Saturday an important opportunity for players looking to build momentum and strengthen their position on the WDF circuit .

The day also features additional festival competitions, including the World Paradarts Hungarian Masters and the Hungarian Soft Open, broadening the programme beyond the main steel-tip ranking events.

Sunday: Hungarian Masters

The weekend concludes with the Hungarian Masters on Sunday with the highest ranked of the three WDF tournaments at Gold level.

The Open champion will collect €2,600, with €1,300 available to the Women’s winner. The Boys’ U18 and Girls’ U18 champions will receive €250 and €120 respectively.

The Open final is played over the best of 11 legs, while the Women’s and youth finals will be contested over the best of nine, requiring an added level of consistency and composure as the weekend reaches its conclusion.

With the biggest prize money and ranking status of the three events on offer, the Hungarian Masters represents the standout opportunity for players to finish the weekend on a high.

Sunday’s programme also includes the World Paradarts Hungarian Classic.

A long-standing fixture in Hungarian darts

Hungary has a notable history on the WDF calendar. The Hungarian Open was established in 1999 and became a regular fixture before being replaced by the Hungarian Classic and Hungarian Masters format in 2016.

Among the event’s most successful former champions is Hungarian player Veronika Ihász, who won the women’s Hungarian Open four times. England’s Dave Prins also made his mark on the men’s event, claiming back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012.

The country has continued to host international darts competition, bringing together players from across the world and providing opportunities for established names and emerging talents alike.

This weekend’s festival continues that tradition, with three differently ranked tournaments offering players multiple opportunities to compete for silverware and WDF ranking points.

With the Bronze, Silver and Gold events providing a clear progression across the weekend, Budapest is set for a busy few days of international darts as the Hungarian Grand Prix, Classic and Masters bring the WDF action to a close on Sunday.
