Groups B and C got going at MODUS Super Series on Thursday, and both were close-run on day one, with Nathan Potter and Stuart Dutton closing the day on top of their respective standings.
Potter took three wins out of four in Group B to end on six points, leading by leg difference to Jack Aldridge, but Graham Usher and Tommy Lishman are waiting in the wings with both two points back on four points.
ADC Winmau Championship winner Graham Hall was winless on the opening night, and has a very tall task if he is to make Finals Night.
Over in Group C, it’s another congested story, with Stuart Dutton taking four wins from five to lead the way, with Joe Hunt hot on his heels, two legs separating them in difference.
The chasing pack are close behind, Ricardo Ulrich and Robbie Martin sitting on six points, just two points behind Dutton and Hunt.
Grant Sampson won his first match this week after 15 straight defeats in Group A, but the South African could only muster that victory, against four defeats.
David O’Hara props the table up, as the Irishman was winless on day one.
