Wenig Reasserts Himself To Reach Finale

Lukas Wenig secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning four of his five matches to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.

Wenig, who entered Wednesday’s play on 16 points from the opening two days of Group A, won four matches from five for the 3^rd day in a row, as he topped the group overall, by recording victories over Franz Roetzsch, Scott Baker, Davy Proosten and Thibault Tricole, with his only defeat coming against Gavin Carlin, to end on 24 points from a possible 30.

Elsewhere, Scott Baker and Gavin Carlin will compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2^nd and 3^rd respectively, with Baker ending on 18 points and Carlin on 16 points. The duo will be joined by Mike Warburton, Mike Gillet and Niall Culleton.

Franz Roetzsch, Thibault Tricole, and Davy Proosten will all compete in Group C, after finishing 4^th, 5^th and 6^th respectively, with Roetzsch ending on 14 points, Tricole on 12 points and Proosten on 6 points. The trio will be joined by Josh Payne, Steve Haggerty and debutant, Dave Prins.

Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 9:30 am GMT and Group B commencing from 10 pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
