Nine-Dart Star Archie Self secured his place in Saturday’s Champions Week Finale on Wednesday, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the MODUS Super Series.
Self, who entered Wednesday’s play on 16 points from the opening two days of Group A, topped the group overall after winning all five of his matches, as he recorded victories against Andy Baetens, David Davies, Danny Ayres, Darren Beveridge and Derek Coulson, to end on 26 points from a possible 30 overall. It was during his victory against Ayres that the teenager fired in a nine-dart finish in the opening leg of the tie.
Elsewhere, Derek Coulson and Andy Baetens will both compete in Group B, after the pair finished second and third respectively overall, with Coulson ending on 18 points and Baetens on 14 points. The duo will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Ted Evetts, Scott Robertson and Scott Campbell.
David Davies, Darren Beveridge and Danny Ayres will all compete in Group C, after finishing fourth, fifth and sixth respectively overall, with Davies ending on 14 points, Beveridge on ten points and Ayres on eight points.
The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Afternoon by Neil Duff, Benito Van de Pas and Michael Wiles.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 1pm GMT and Group B commencing from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on The MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
