Alec Small, Leonard Gates, Richard Veenstra, Chris Landman and Nick Kenny all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Adam Warner, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Small, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after winning four of his five matches again, as he recorded victories over Luke Getty, Jeffrey Bekema, Willem Mandigers and Tony Newell, with his only defeat coming against Leonard Gates, to end on 16 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Leonard Gates also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, including five wins from five during Friday’s play, as Luke Getty finished 3rd on 10 points, Tony Newell in 4th on 8 points, with Jeffrey Bekema and Willem Mandigers finishing 5th and 6th on 6 points each.
In Group B, Richard Veenstra topped the group overall, despite only winning two matches from four on Friday evening, as he recorded victories over Kai Fan Leung and Nick Kenny, with his two defeats coming against Chris Landman and Rob Collins, to end on 10 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Chris Landman and Nick Kenny also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Landman ending on 10 points and Kenny on 8 points, as Rob Collins and Kai Fan Leung finished joint bottom on 6 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 8 with the six players battling it out for just 1 spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
