Australian star Corey Cadby regained his PDC Tour Card on Friday, after coming through Day 2 of the Final Stage of European Q School, whilst Graham Usher won a two-year Tour Card for the first time at UK Q School, with the action continuing in Milton Keynes and Kalkar, Germany.

Day 1 of the Final Stage of Q School saw Former World Youth Champion Arron Monk and Dutchman Jeffrey Sparidaans pick up the first two Tour Cards on offer in the UK and Europe respectively, as players continue to battle it out for automatic Tour Cards or ones via their respective Order of Merit’s.

European Q School

Former UK Open Finalist, Corey Cadby, regained his PDC Tour Card after a three-year absence, as he came through Day Two of the Final Stage of European Q School, recording a succession of victories over Steven Morrison, Lukas Wenig, Kevin Blomme, Chris Landman, Sebastian Bialecki and Pascal Rupprecht, to reach the final, where he came up against Czech Republican star Karel Sedlacek.

The final began with Sedlacek racing into a 2-0 lead, with winning legs coming in a total of 31 darts, before Cadby stormed in front by winning three straight legs in 18,13 and 14 darts respectively to move 3-2 ahead in a race to six. Sedlacek tied the game up at 3 a piece in the following leg with a 13 darter, before once again, Cadby won three successive legs, which saw him seal the victory in Leg 9 with a 14 darter to secure his return to the PDC senior tour.
Sedlacek’s run to the final saw him record victories on the day over Remo Mandiau, Neven Resetar, Roy Van de Griendt, Jelle Klaasen, Kenny Neyens and Maik Kuivenhoven, before denied by Cadby, but sits in 5th on the Order of Merit heading into Day Three as he bids to win back his Tour Card.

UK Q School

Englishman Graham Usher secured a two-year PDC Tour Card for the first time in his career, after coming through Day Two of the Final Stage of UK Q School. He reached the decider by recording victories over Jim McEwan, Christopher Holt, Dylan Slevin, Lee Budgen, Jarred Cole and Lee Evans, to set up a clash with Adam Warner.

Nothing separated the pair in the first half of the final, with seven straight holds of throw, before the first break came from Warner in Leg 8 with a 13 darter to move 5-3 ahead and within one of victory. Usher then produced a remarkable comeback by winning three successive legs in 17,14 and 15 darts respectively to seal the victory, denying Warner and to win a Tour Card outright for the first time in his career.

Warner’s run to the final saw him record victories on the day over David Wawrzewski, Ryan Murray, Lewis Gurney, Nathan Girvan, Ryan Harrington and Keegan Brown, before being denied by Usher, but the 2022 UK Open participant sits on top of the Order of Merit on 5 points heading into Day Three, as he bids to win a Tour Card for the first time in his career.

PDC Q School continues on Saturday, in the UK and in Europe, with Day Three of the Final Stage with 1 automatic Tour Card up for grabs at each Q School, with play commencing at 12:00 CET in Europe and 12:00 GMT in the UK. All live scores and results can be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com
