Welshmen Derek Coulson and David Davies were victorious on Friday, in winning Challenge Tour Events 16 & 17 respectively, as the PDC’s second tier darts tour weekend commenced at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes.
Coulson – the winner of Challenge Tour Event Six back in March – reached the final of Event 16 firstly by recording victories against Daryl Hunt, Jack Aldridge, Matt Gallett, Ashley Coleman, Patrik Williams, Kevin Burness and Archie Self, to set up a clash with Netherlands’ Stef Kosters.
The PDC’s second-tier tour features 24 events, each worth £15,000, played across five weekends during the calendar year with the approaching weekend being the penultimate block .

The final began with Kosters racing into a 3-0 lead with winning legs coming in 18,11 and 20 darts respectively, before Coulson ended the drought to pick up his first leg of the tie in Leg Four with a 17 dart hold of throw. Kosters moved within one of victory in the following leg with a 17 darter of his own to move 4-1 in front.
Coulson then produced an incredible comeback by rattling off four successive legs and surviving match darts from Kosters along the way to seal a 5-4 victory with an 18 darter to pick up his second Challenge Tour title of the year as well as the £3,000 top prize.
In Event 17, David Davies was victorious with the Welshman reaching the final firstly by recording victories against Ewan Jones, Maikel Verberk, Scott Waites, Carl Wilson, Joseph Heywood and Patrik Williams, to set up a clash with England’s Dan Hands.
The final began with Hands taking the opener in 15 darts before Davies ran away with the tie by rattling off five successive legs in a total of 72 darts to seal a 5-1 victory and pick up a second Challenge Tour title of his career.

The PDC Winmau Challenge Tour weekend concludes on Saturday, with Events 18 & 19 taking place in Milton Keynes, with play commencing at 10:30 BST, as all live scores and results can be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com.
