Robert Thornton secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after completing a clean sweep, with five wins from five to end his Group A campaign, top, as the field was confirmed for Groups B and C at the Modus Super Series.
Thornton, who entered Wednesday’s play on 12 points from the opening two days of Group A, won five matches from five to book his place into Saturday’s finale, as he recorded victories over Richie Howson, Sam Cankett, John Nelson, Lee Cocks and Gary Stafford, to end on 22 points from a possible 30.
Elsewhere, Lee Cocks and Richie Howson will compete in Group B, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Cocks ending on 22 points and narrowly missing out on an automatic spot through to the finale on leg difference, whilst Howson ended on 18 points.
The duo will be joined on Thursday and Friday Evening by Johnny Haines, Darryl Fitton and David Davies.
Sam Cankett, John Nelson and Gary Stafford will all compete in Group C, after they finished 4th, 5th and 6th respectively overall, with Cankett ending on 14 points, Nelson on 8 points and Stafford on 6 points.
The trio will be joined on Thursday and Friday Morning by Neil Duff, Chas Barstow and Matt Clark.
Modus Super Series continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 9:30am GMT and Group B commencing from 10pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
