The Kings Norton League have been involved in cup games and in the semi-finals of their League Cup league runners-up Copper Fox, with a maximum from E.Simpson, won 5-2 against Thurlestone who ended their campaign sixth in the league. In the other last four game fourth in the league Rubery Social Club had a convincing 6-1 victory over fifth placed Bourneville whose G.Carver also found the three treble twenties.
In the Consolation Cup semi-finals with a 180 from their A.Busby league champions Northfield handed out a 7-0 whitewash to their opponents Kings Norton Flights who ended the season next to bottom of the table. Meeting Northfield in the final will be Coppice who with a maximum score from their A.Ward plus the 5-2 result accounted for Grant Arms.
With all of the domestic results sorted and only cup finals to be played off the Kings Norton League are looking forward to next season and are on the lookout for more teams to join them in the forthcoming campaign which should get underway in early January.
Both old and new teams are invited to join the league, anyone requiring any further information should contact James Good on 077061-21918.

It was certainly a high-scoring week in the Harborne and District League with no fewer than ten maximums with eight players all finding the three treble twenties and they were A.Bomber, F.Johnson, D.Nicholls (Smethwick Cricket Club), S.Jones, M.Lloyd (Northfield Conservative Club), S.Pasetti (Weoley Castle WMC), K.Jukes (Copper Fox) and John Fox (Cock Inn).
On the league front the two top teams squared up to each other with second placed Smethwick Cricket Club hosting leaders Northfield Conservative Club. The outcome was a close but vital 5-4 win for top of the table Northfield Conservative Club to see them extend their lead over their hosts to four points and with only three fixtures remaining the win could be the decisive one that gives Northfield the title. Despite the defeat Smethwick Cricket Club still hold a two points lead on their nearest rivals Copper Fox ‘R’ and Northfield Town, but now the runners-up place is still up for grabs for all three teams. Copper Fox ‘R’ had a 7-2 win at Cock Inn to keep them in the hunt while Northfield Town lost some of their initiative as they went down surprisingly 5-4 away to Weoley Castle WMC, a win for Town would most certainly have put pressure on Smethwick Cricket Club as they would then have been level on points.
The Harborne League are also fast approaching the end of their season and like the Kings Norton League are seeking more teams for their forthcoming season which again should kick-off in early January. Once more if interested or requiring any further information James Good is the man to contact on 077061-21918.
