Andy The Hammer Hamilton’s decision to pass up three days of Q School opportunity, in order to honour a committment to play MODUS Super Series, is so far going to plan.
Colin McGarry, Jon Worsley, Gary Stone and Martin Adams all joined the former World finalist and secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series.
Neil Duff, the winner of Group A earlier in the week awaits the five for Saturday’s finale.
McGarry, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as he recorded victories against Matt Clark, Bram Van Dijk, Simon Preston, Trina Gulliver and Andy Hamilton, to end on 18 points from a possible 20.
Stoke man Hamilton progressed to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 16 points, whilst Simon Preston finished 3rd on 12 points, Bram Van Dijk in 4th on 8 points, Matt Clark in 5th on 6 points and Trina Gulliver bottom on 0 points having suffered ten defeats from ten.
In Group B, Jon Worsley topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Michel Van der Horst, Martin Adams and Matthew Edgar, with his only defeat coming against Gary Stone, to end on 10 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Gary Stone and Martin Adams also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Stone ending on 10 points and Adams on 8 points, whilst Michel Van der Horst and Matthew Edgar finished 4th and 5th on 6 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Eight with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
