Potter Claims Super Series

Play the Pro Darts Scorer

Nathan ‘The Wizard’ Potter from Beccles in Suffolk stole the show at Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations – staged the final of its major darts tournament for 2024.

The Super Series Final was staged on Saturday 7 December -and for the first year the event featured a Suffolk Super Series Youth Open for Under 21s and Under 16s with free entry and a £200 prize fund on the same day, thanks to sponsors darts shop John Hogan Darts.

The Super Series Event 2024 covered 7 Grand Slam events at 7 venues with a £7,000 prize pot. Organised by Evolution Darts – with the support of Target Darts, competitors came to play the final at the community venue The Barn from all over the County. Throughout the year players gained points for how far they got in each event.

The top 32 on the series points table qualified for finals day. The qualifiers included 2023 champion Jason Elvin, England international Jo Locke and seniors World Championship star Kevin Edwards with Number 1 seed for the finals was former PDC star Jack Main but rising star Potter claimed the crown.

Nathan recovered from a first group game defeat to take the 2024 Suffolk Super Series title beating fellow Suffolk County player Stefan Morling in a last let decider 6-5.

He won event 1 of this year’s competition to come through the toughest group seen at finals day including Kevin Edwards, Gary Butcher and JJ Wright.  Stefan had it no easier coming through a group that included Wayne Bugby, Frankie Ansell and Graham Peck.

Nathan made steady progress to the semi-finals beating reigning Champion Jason Elvin and Wayne Bugby without dropping a leg.  Stefan also made rapid progress to the semi-finals dropping just 1 leg in each match while beating Chris Denny and JJ Wright.  The semi-finals themselves proved to be much harder with Stefan overcoming an on-form Martyn Moore 5-2 and Nathan coming through a last leg decider to beat Rober Butters 5-4.

The final was full of tension and thrills. After a long season travelling Suffolk to pick up points, a real ding-dong battle would see Stefan making the early running leading 3-0 and and 4-2 before Nathan really dug in to win 4 legs on the trot to lead 5-4 for the first time in the match.

The 10th leg was a testament to Stefan’s character on the oche as he held his nerve to take us to a decider, with so much on 1 leg the players still scored heavily but it was heartbreak for Stefan as 3 missed darts at a double proved costly. Nathan hit the winning double to take the title of Suffolk Super Series Champion 2024.

Stonham Barns Park has been hosting various darts events at Legends Sports Bar – named in honour of a variety of sporting legends – since its opening with one being hosted by famous names from the world of darts Russ Bray and Ipswich-based Keith Deller.

‘We were delighted with the final of the Super Series tournament at Stonham Barns Park which has hosted some massive darts events over the course of the year.’

‘It was a great atmosphere with everyone together to witness the crowning of the best of the best from 2024.’

‘It was really fun and all the showmanship that goes with a top darts event and we look forward to doing it all again in 2025.’
