Tommy Morris, Danny Ayres, David Evans, Gary Stone and James Hubbard all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Jeff Smith, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Morris, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Adrian Gray, Darren Brown, Dustin Straver and Danny Ayres, with his only defeat coming against Ashley Coleman, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Danny Ayres also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 16 points, whilst Dustin Straver finished 3rd on 12 points, Ashley Coleman and Adrian Gray finishing 4th and 5th respectively on 6 points each and Darren Brown finished bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, David Evans topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Gary Stone, Mervyn King, James Hubbard and Adam Mould, to end on 12 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Gary Stone and James Hubbard also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Stone ending on 10 points and Hubbard on 8 points, whilst Adam Mould finished 4th on 6 points and Mervyn King bottom on 4 points.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week One with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
