Hunt and Cocks Bag PDC Tier Tour Titles

PDC Winmau Challenge Tour Events 16 & 17 Joe Hunt and Lee Cocks were victorious on Friday, in winning Challenge Tour Events 16 & 17 respectively.

The PDC’s second tier tour weekend commenced at the Mattioli Arena, Leicester. Hunt, who’s furthest run on the Challenge Tour in 2025 came in Event Four in which he reached the Semi Finals, went a step further in Event 16.

Hunt reached the final firstly by recording victories against Michael Barnard, Dmitriy Zhukov, Trevor Burkhill, David Evans, Ultan McDyer, Scott Campbell and Ashley Coleman, to set up a clash with Scotland’s Derek Maclean.

The final began with Hunt racing into a 2-0 lead with winning legs coming in a total of 35 darts, before Maclean fort back and charged in front by rattling off four successive legs to move 4-2 ahead and within one of victory.

Hunt then produced a remarkable comeback by winning three straight legs and sealing the victory in a ninth and deciding leg with a 15 darter to pick up a maiden PDC title as well as collecting the £2,500 first prize.

In Event 17, Lee Cocks was victorious, as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Aaron Beeney, Bruno Stoeckli, Samuel Price, Jarred Cole, Reece Colley and David Pallett, to set up a clash with fellow compatriot Jack Tweddell.

The final began with Cocks racing into a 2-0 lead with winning legs coming in 15 and 16 darts respectively before there was a run of six straight holds of throw between the pair, ending with Cocks sealing the victory in Leg Eight with a 19 darter to pick up a second career Challenge Tour title as well as the £2,500 first prize.

PDC Winmau Challenge Tour weekend concludes on Saturday, with Events 18 & 19 taking place in Leicester, with play commencing at 10:30 BST, as all live scores and results can be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com.
