Selsey’s main stage will play host to two darts finals on Sunday evening, with the England International Open in both the Open and Women’s titles to be settled under the lights.
Open Category: Walker v Turner
Jayden Walker and Aaron Turner will meet for the Open crown, with Walker heading in as as the one in better form.
‘The Young Gun’, who recently won a qualifying event to be included in the England Men’s team for the first time, dropped just four legs on his way to the final and saved his best for the semi-finals, where he blitzed Jack Nankervis 4-0 with a 101.90 average.
Earlier he saw off fellow young gun Archie Self 4-1 in the quarter-finals, despite Self posting the higher average. Self was one of the stars of the early rounds, hitting 107 and 106 averages on his way through.
Walker also beat Ron Meulenkamp 4-1 and Nigel Prior 4-0 along the way.
Turner has had to work harder. He lost a leg or more in most of his matches and held his nerve in a deciding leg to edge past Scott Marsh 4-3 in the semi-finals.
Before that, he’d shut out George Smith 4-0 in the last-eight, having beaten Peter Gallacher 4-2 in the Last 16 and Owen Carr 4-2 in the last 32.
As a recent WDF tournament winner in Iceland, Turner will fancy his chances either way against the WDF World Number 2.
