Johnny Haines, Carl Wilson, Jenson Walker, Conan Whitehead and Steve Beaton all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Charlie Manby, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Haines, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Oliver King, Janis Pinka, Rene Eidams and Bradley O’Connor, with his only defeat coming against Carl Wilson, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Carl Wilson also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, edging out Oliver King, who also ended on 14 points, but missed out in 3rd due to leg difference, whilst Rene Eidams finished 4th on 8 points, Janis Pinka in 5th on 6 points and Bradley O’Connor bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Jenson Walker topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as he recorded victories against Conan Whitehead, Scott Taylor, Mike Warburton and Steve Beaton, to end on 12 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Conan Whitehead and Steve Beaton also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 8 points each, edging out Mike Warburton, who also ended on 8 points, but missed out in 4th due to leg difference, whilst Scott Taylor finished bottom on 4 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Five with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
