You Bet: Value Available After Early Eliminations

With round two of the PDC World Championships complete we move toward the business end of the PDC World Championship of 2026. The traditional Christmas break allows all those still in the event to rest and recharge their batteries before their quest begibns again on or around the 27th of DEcember.

The latest odds (from BOYLE Sports) show several areas of potential value. Josh Rock seems to be quietly going about his work as he tries to add the ultimate cherry on the top of a breakthrough season. 14-1 for the Northern Irish World Cup Champion seems at least fair.

There’s been some notable eliminations already, with Gerwyn Price who entered the competition as fourth favourite at 14/1 losing in straight sets to Wesley Plaisier and Danny Noppert going down in a tremendous encounter with Justin Hood.

Ahead of the tournament, Luke Littler was pencilled in to face Gerwyn Price in the Quarterfinals, but following the Welshman’s exit from the tournament, Littler’s chance of retaining the championship have shortened to 8/13 from 10/11.

Gian van Veen has solidified his place as third favourite, remaining 9/1 to win the competition. Many would say he had form, momentum and temperament on his side.

Jonny Clayton’s odds have halved to 33/1 after being given a bye to the third round.

Expect Gary Anderson’s to do the same after his fine victory last night. The only real question, for fans of the Scot, is: can he maintain his best over 4 more matches many of which may be longer that his first two?
