The Paddy Power World Darts Championship will resume on Saturday December 27, as reigning champion Luke Littler continues his defence of the title against Austrian stalwart Mensur Suljovic.
Attention will be heightened after the heated reaction to Mensur’s earlier win over Joe Cullen. The Austrian has always been a methodical player but Cullen took Umbridge at what he percieved as deliberate.
Littler’s two straightforward wins so far and the defeat of Gerwyn Price, in his segment of the draw, mean that the reigning champion is an even hotter favourite than before.
Elsewhere, world number four Stephen Bunting faces James Hurrell, with fifth seed Jonny Clayton also in action earlier in the day.
Sweden’s Andreas Harrysson is building a following due to his impressive beard and easy going persona. Could he extend the famed darting legacy of Stefan Lord and Magnus Caris who both reached the semi finals of the WDF event.
Giant killer Wesley Plaisier returns after his heroics in downing former champions Gerwyn Price. The Dutchman will tackle Polish Eagle Krzysztof Ratajski in the days’ opener.
