The player affectionately nicknamed Gok produced a moment of pristine perfection on a Sunday afternoon in February at Rusthall Club, Tunbridge Wells. Against the backdrop of local league intensity, he unfurled a flawless nine-darter – a sequence of tungsten virtuosity that momentarily transformed a community venue into a cathedral of darting excellence.
He was not alone in delivering early-season Vault 16.0 perfection. Roughly a week earlier, Welsh competitor Alex Williams – known as The Extinguisher – ignited his own blaze of brilliance at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Penygroes. After firing in consecutive maximums, he expertly channelled his moniker before extinguishing the remaining 141 with clinical precision.

Then, more recently, 13-year-old Jayden Walker – already festooned with youth accolades – delivered a mesmeric 121.86 average at The Sandpiper in Christchurch, Dorset. There was no magical nine on that occasion, but legs of 13, 11 and 13 darts represent a standard of precocious excellence that would intimidate many seasoned campaigners, let alone a teenager at the embryonic stage of his career.
