Winmau Championship North: ADC’s Twin Track Darts Tour Continues

Diamond Draws Competitions

The ADC & WADC Winmau Championship North gets underway this weekend, with the opening quartet of darts events taking place at this season’s host venue, the Middlesbrough Sports Village.

Back in February at Bradmoor Farm, the southern circuit ignited its campaign. Now, two months on, attention shifts north as the corresponding northern edition prepares to burst into life.

One of the standout virtues of this year’s Winmau Championship structure is that all twelve tournaments across both regions are scheduled without overlap. This affords competitors the enviable opportunity to participate in the full complement of twenty-four events, should they so wish.

Ahead of Saturday’s commencement, both ADC and WADC players have the option of entering Friday evening’s warm-up – an aptly named curtain-raiser. While no ranking points are on offer, it provides a valuable opportunity to accrue some prize money and fine-tune one’s throwing arm ahead of the main action.

Across the season, both Bradmoor Farm and the Middlesbrough Sports Village will stage their respective twelve events over three distinct weekends. For the South, attention returns to the oche in early May and again later in August. Following this weekend’s Teesside opener, northern competitors will reconvene at the end of June, before concluding their campaign across the opening days of September.

In terms of prize funds, each ADC event boasts a £1,700 pot, with the champion claiming a handsome £1,000 share. Meanwhile, in the WADC competitions, the victorious player will collect a £500 cheque.

At the culmination of the season, the top eight players from each regional leader board will automatically secure their place at the Grand Final. Should a player achieve qualification via both the North and South standings, those just outside the cut-off may be granted a welcome reprieve.

DartsWorld will provide comprehensive coverage following the conclusion of what promises to be a compelling and high-calibre weekend of tungsten action in the North-East of England.
