Beeton and Weber Seal Superb Winmau Development Tour Darts 2026 Titles

Diamond Draws Competitions

Chester chucker James Beeton finally shattered his PDC title drought, clinching a dramatic last-leg decider over fellow English youngster Nathan Potter in the opening instalment of the latest five Development Tour darts events in Milton Keynes.

On the very same day, Beau Greaves delivered yet another moment of perfection, rattling in a sublime nine-darter.

After suffering heartbreak in the final a couple of months ago in Leicester, where he narrowly lost out to Sebastian Bielecki, the reigning WDF Scottish Open champion returned with renewed resolve and, this time, emphatically exorcised those lingering demons.

Beets powered his way to the quarter-finals courtesy of a ton-plus display to edge past TSMC stable-mate Jack Drayton. He then pinched a tense deciding leg to pip Dutchman Jamai van den Herik, before producing a superb turnaround from an early 3-0 deficit to overcome Archie Self and secure his place in a second final of the season.

Once again, the 23-year-old found himself under significant duress, trailing Nathan Potter 4-1. However, Beeton demonstrated admirable resilience, digging deep to orchestrate a stirring comeback and, in a scrappy yet gripping decider, held his nerve on throw to finally capture that elusive maiden PDC title.

Later in the afternoon, an all-German finale saw Leon Weber double his Development Tour tally, overcoming compatriot Dominik Gruellich. The Dörsdorf arrow-smith, who plies his trade on the PDC ProTour circuit, surged imperiously to the semi-finals, relinquishing a mere ten legs along the way.

He then produced a ruthlessly clinical whitewash of Dutch youngster Angelo Balsamo to emphatically book his place in Friday’s curtain call contest.

Following the early exchanges, it was Gruellich who initially held the upper hand, edging into a 2-1 lead. However, that proved to be the high-water mark of his challenge, as Weber responded with ruthless authority, reeling off four consecutive legs to seal a second career Development Tour crown.

Unsurprisingly, if there was one name tipped to conjure perfection from the field, it was Greaves. The three-time Lakeside Women’s champion duly delivered, producing a flawless nine-dart finish in her victory over fellow Yorkshire thrower Charlie Manby, before her run was eventually curtailed by the aforementioned Balsamo at the quarter-final stage.
