Settling into the six hour drive to Portsmouth before my latest attempt at the MODUS Super Series gave me the opportunity for some catch up phone calls with old friends, and to reflect on recent months, before sharing some darts thoughts with you all.
Settling into a new region of the UK has been very enjoyable and we are enjoying the relaxed and friendly atmosphere as well as the more personal benefits.
On a darting note it has, yet again, been a real mixed bag. I have started doing more ADC Vault events as they are more available to me and they seem very well run with a high level of both talent and organisation.

We have a batch of seriously good young talent including 12-year-olds good enough to win these events. There are also some grand names with darting heritage, Steve Coote and Wes Newton among them.
I have already managed a couple of event wins in the 16.0 series and it’s nice to feel things gelling again.
I cannot put too much of a gloss on the January opening to the 2026 season. Neither went at all as I would have hoped and in some ways marked the low point of recent times. There were flashes of form but not my usual ‘big day’ at Q School and then a definite slump from my 2025 Challenge Tour form
Not for the first time I have realised that I had already solved my set up and technical needs and should really stop messing about!
As if to prove my point I enjoyed one of my best runs at the Super Series for a little while. Plenty of wins, and some good match playing performances, resulted in a run to the Saturday night finals and a narrow semi final defeat to the eventual winner.
It was a nice re-set and a good platform going forward. I look forward to playing as many events, of as wide variety, as I can manage in the coming months and enjoying my darts once again.
I hope to see you all out there. Meanwhile #UTB
