LUKE Littler will open his defence of the BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix against Luke Woodhouse, as the world number one continues his pursuit of a clean sweep of Premier televised titles in 2026.
Littler stormed to his maiden World Grand Prix crown 12 months ago, and the teenage superstar is bidding to join Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen in becoming just the third player to win back-to-back titles in the unique double-start event.
The 2026 World Grand Prix will take place at Leicester’s Mattioli Arena from September 28-October 4, as the sport’s top players compete for a newly-boosted £150,000 top prize and the coveted title.
The draw pits the world’s top 16 against the top 16 players from the one-year ProTour rankings, with Littler handed a tough opening assignment against Baltic Sea Darts Open champion Woodhouse.
2023 champion Luke Humphries – also hunting a second double-start crown – faces two-time runner-up Dave Chisnall, while six-time champion Michael van Gerwen plays 2024 semi-finalist Ryan Joyce.
European Champion Gian van Veen will meet 2020 runner-up Dirk van Duijvenbode in an all-Dutch affair, as former winners Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton take on Polish duo Sebastian Bialecki and Krzysztof Ratajski respectively.
Two-time World Grand Prix champion James Wade kicks off his campaign against 2023 semi-finalist Joe Cullen, with Scottish icon Gary Anderson up against Australian number one Damon Heta in his opener.
Wessel Nijman – a winner of eight ranking titles in 2026 – faces 2017/18 World Champion Rob Cross, while 2022 runner-up Nathan Aspinall renews his rivalry with Dutch debutant Kevin Doets.
Former European Champion Ross Smith and Scotland’s Cameron Menzies go head-to-head, as two-time semi-finalists Danny Noppert and Stephen Bunting face Niko Springer and Andrew Gilding respectively.
Josh Rock and Chris Dobey will take on Dutch duo Niels Zonneveld and Jermaine Wattimena, before Ryan Searle and William O’Connor collide for a place in the last 16.
The 2026 BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, through the PDC’s worldwide broadcast partners including DAZN and Viaplay, and on PDCTV (excluding UK, Germany, Austria & Switzerland based subscribers).
