Four nations are still chasing Open Teams gold in Torshavn, and with the semi-finals and final all on Saturday, the medals will be settled in a single day. Every one of them has already banked a bronze at the very least.
England arrive as the side to beat. Carl Wilkinson, Jenson Walker, Lloyd Pennell and Sean Holley swept aside Switzerland 9-1 in the last 16, then repeated the scoreline against Finland in the quarter-finals, averaging 85.92 to their opponent’s 76.17. Two knockout matches, two legs dropped.
The Netherlands have matched them for firepower. Berry van Peer, Danny van Trijp, Maikel Nuchter and Martijn Draft saw off Norway 9-6 before beating Scotland 9-5 in a quarter-final that produced the highest average of the knockout stage so far, 89.74 to 86.79.
Dragt took care of the finishing, landing a 105 checkout to beat Mitchell Lawrie and book the semi-final spot.

Czechia have taken the quieter road. David Pisek, Dominik Moravcik, Jindrich Ulrych and Petr Tous edged Northern Ireland 9-7 in the last 16 in a match where both teams averaged exactly 74.23, then pulled clear of Hungary 9-5 in the quarters.
Ireland have taken the dramatic route. Dale McCarthy, Damien Grimes, Gerard McGlynn and Raymond Mulvey ended Wales’ hopes 9-7 in the last 16, despite being out-averaged 78.90 to 76.28, and Wales had been the strongest outfit coming out of the group stages.
Then came the quarter-final, where Ireland recovered from 7-2 down to beat 2024 winners Sweden 9-8 in a last-leg decider, with less than a point on the averages separating the sides.
