Duo Claim Maiden Development Tour Titles

Play The Pro Darts Scorer

Archie Self and Nunjo Dewaele were victorious on Saturday, in winning their maiden Development Tour darts titles at Events 21 and 22 respectively, as the final weekend of the PDC’s Youth Tour season commenced at the Robin Park Leisure Centre, Wigan.

In Event 22, Archie Self was victorious with the teenager reaching the final firstly by recording victories against Cayden Smith, Luca Wolff, Angelo Balsamo, Rylie Tock, Oliver Ufer, Dominik Gruellich and Nathan Potter, to set up a clash with compatriot Sam Jackson.

The final began with the pair holding throw in the opening two legs, before Self charged in front by rattling off three successive legs in a total of 50 darts to move 4-1 ahead and within one of victory. Jackson did pull one leg back before Self sealed the victory in Leg Seven with a 15 darter to pick up a first Development Tour title adding to his two titles won on the Challenge Tour in 2026.

Earlier Dewaele, who’d previously reached two Development Tour Quarter Finals in 2026, reached the final of Event 21 firstly by recording victories against Oscar Hodson, Ciaran Forde, Shane de Jong, Mason Whitlock, Eoin Corrigan, Dylan Slevin and Connor Mitchell, to set up a clash with Wales’ Cole Davey.

Nothing separated the pair in the opening stages of the final, with four straight holds of throw ending with Davey breaking throw in Leg Five with a 17 darter, which was then followed by a 14 dart break back from Dewaele to square the tie up at 3apiece. The pair then repeated the same feat in the following two legs to set up a ninth and deciding leg in which Dewaele would have the advantage of throwing first. This proved decisive as the Belgian sealed the victory with a 15 darter to clinch a maiden PDC title as well as the £3,000 top prize.
