Jim McEwan was victorious on Sunday, in winning his 2nd PDC Challenge Tour title of his career, after defeating Stephen Burton in the decider, as the opening weekend of the PDC’s second-tier tour season came to a close in Milton Keynes.
Scotland’s McEwan, who picked up his 1st Challenge Tour title in 2021, dropped just nine legs in reaching the decider on Sunday, after recording victories over Kevin Garcia, Nathan Treadgold, Jelle Klaasen, Will Harwood, Colin Osborne, Steven Noster and Darren Penhall, to set up a clash with Stephen Burton.
The Scottish thrower put in his best average of the day and didn’t give Burton a sniff, in whitewashing him 5-0, with winning legs coming in 17,14,16,14 and 16 darts respectively, to pick up the £2,000 1st prize and sits 2nd in the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, behind Scott Williams, who picked up the opening two events on Friday.
The PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour returns between April 1st-3rd with Events 6-10 taking place from Halle 39, Hildesheim. All live scores and results will be viewed via tv.dartconnect.com.
