Bristow and Priestley to Defend Title

Play The Pro Darts Scorer

THE WORLD Team Championship takes place at the Willows Variety Centre, Salford, Manchester from October 2-6.Sixteen teams will once again be taking part in this prestigious event.

The final line-up is yet to be confirmed but the WDC announce that it will include last year’s champions, Harrow Team Eric Bristow and Dennis Priestley.

Strong contenders for this year’s title also comes in the form of a new partnership, Phil Taylor and Bob Anderson, from the Unicorn stable.

Other pairings to watch include the long term partnership of John Lowe and Cliff Lazarenko, also playing for Unicorn. Keith Deller and Jamie Harvey, last year’s losing finalists, renew their partnership under the Riley team banner.

Newcomers Gary Mawson and Tony Holyoake come together as the first Canadian pairing and the World No 3 Alan Warriner pairs with Kevin Spiolek.

If Evison can maintain the magnificent form which led him to win the Webster’s Yorkshire Bitter World Matchplay in Blackpool he and fellow Durro player Rod Harrington will undoubtedly prove a winning combination.

Once again Sky will be broadcasting this event live, providing 25 hours of high octane professional darts every afternoon and evening. The commentary will be provided by Sky’s very own, Sid Waddell, Dave Lanning and John Gwynne.

Following the scramble for tickets at the recent sell-out Webster’s Yorkshire Bitter World Matchplay tournament the World Darts Council is expecting a capacity crowd and advises the game’s enthusiasts to book their tickets as soon as possible.
