Robert Thornton secured his place in Saturday’s finale on Wednesday, after winning four of his five matches, as Group A came to a close, with the fields being confirmed for Groups B and C.
Thornton, who entered Wednesday’s play having completed a clean sweep on Day 1 of Group A, won four of his five matches to secure his qualification into Saturday’s finale, after recording victories over Robert Owen, Gavin Carlin, Chris Gilliland and Darren Penhall, to end on 18 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, Robert Owen and Gavin Carlin will compete in Group B, after finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 10 points each, and will be joined alongside Lee Evans, Rob Collins and a Live League debut for 1983 World Champion, Keith Deller.
Adam Smith-Neale narrowly missed out on a place in Group B, despite ending on 10 points, but finished in 4th on leg difference, with Darren Penhall and Chris Gilliland joining him in Group C, after finishing 5th and 6th respectively overall. The trio will be joined by Josh Richardson, Sean Fisher and Pete Burgoyne.
Online Darts Live League continues on Thursday with Group C commencing from 9:30am BST and Group B commencing from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
