Five Are Finals Bound

Moreno Blom, Lee Shewan, Conor Heneghan, Ryan Furness and Conan Whitehead all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Andy Hamilton, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.

Blom, who entered Friday’s play on 4 points from the opening day of Group C, won four of his five matches as he topped the group overall, by recording victories over Kevin Painter, Scott Walters, Steve Brown and Lee Shewan, with his only defeat coming against Liam Meek, as he ended on 12 points from a possible 20.

Elsewhere, Lee Shewan also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, by finishing 2nd on 12 points, behind Blom on leg difference, with three players in Steve Brown, Kevin Painter and Scott Walters all finishing on 10 points each and Liam Meek finishing bottom on 6 points.

In Group B, Conor Heneghan topped the group overall, despite only winning two of his four matches on Friday, but an impressive display during Thursday’s play, which included a Nine Dart leg, ensured his place in Saturday’s finale, as he finished on 10 points from a possible 16.

Elsewhere, Ryan Furness also finished on 10 points overall, but finished behind Heneghan on leg difference in progressing through to the finale, alongside Conan Whitehead, who finished 3rd on 8 points, edging out Johnny Haines, who also ended on 8 points, but missed out on leg difference, with Adam Smith-Neale finishing bottom on 4 points.

The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week 8 with the six players battling it out for just 1 spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 10:00pm GMT. Play will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
